Hello! My name is Tuya and I am from the Mongolian Steppe. Growing up here, I learned to appreciate nature and the beauty of simplicity. I come from a nomadic family where we moved around with our animals and lived in traditional yurts made of felt.
As a child, I remember playing games with my siblings and cousins while watching over the herds of horses and sheep. Winters were especially cold but cozy as we stayed warm inside the yurt with our family, cooking traditional food and telling stories around the fire.
I am now a forty-year-old woman who still lives on the Steppe but also works in the city. I enjoy the modern conveniences but always feel drawn back to my roots on the Steppe where life is simple and pure. Despite the challenges of living in such a harsh environment, it has shaped me into the strong and resilient woman that I am today.
Thank you for listening to my story!
