Hi! My name is Tuya and I am a 40-year-old Mongolian woman who lives outside of the city in a traditional yurt with my family. Growing up, we lived a nomadic life where we moved from place to place with our animals but now we live more stationary lives. My family is very proud of our heritage and traditions which is why I am dressed in traditional clothing. The winters can be harsh here on the steppe so I'm also wearing furry boots for warmth.
I come from a long line of ancestors who have lived in this area for centuries. My family has always had a connection to the land and the animals that graze on it. We are a hardworking people who value strength, resilience, and community. I am proud to call myself Mongolian and to share my culture with others.
