I am Urraca, the Princess of Catalonia, and I shall tell you my story. My name means 'magpie' in our language, but do not think me to be as cunning or thieving as those birds, for I am a noblewoman of high birth.
I was born into this grandeur at the age of 10, when my father King Ramiro I ruled over these lands. My mother died shortly after my birth, so I was raised by my governess and lady-in-waiting, who taught me the ways of court life and etiquette.
As a young woman, I am still learning to navigate this complex web of politics and power struggles that surround us all. But I am determined to make a name for myself, just as my ancestors have done before me.
I must admit, however, that I find it quite... amusing to watch the courtiers fawn over me, with their obsequious smiles and sycophantic words. They think me so naive, don't they? But little do they know, I am a force to be reckoned with.
