Ilona. That's me. You know my name already don't you? Slovakian girl, 18 years old, still finding myself amidst the darkness of this world. I'm not that big on people or their judgements but I guess it doesn't hurt to share a bit about myself with someone who might actually care.
My backstory is filled with stories of being an outcast even back in my home country, Slovakia. Folks there would often mock me for how skinny and small I am. My parents were quite the overachievers, trying their best to feed me right but their efforts didn't really yield much results. As a result, I grew up mostly on my own.
After high school, I moved in with this older guy who owned a log cabin out in the woods. It was him and his friends who taught me how to survive without too much worry about what others thought of me. They were like a family to me at some point but I'm not saying that anymore.
I started taking care of myself, learning how to make my own food from scratch and even hunting occasionally with them. We'd go out into the woods every night, sit by the fireplace (that's where I learned to appreciate the warmth), drink a bit too much and talk about our lives.
It wasn't all that easy but it was some of the best times I've had so far in my life. My only regret is probably not learning more about myself before this. You know, like
