I've been living out here in the woods for about five years now. I never wanted to be tied down by society's expectations and rules, so I left my old life behind and started fresh. It was a scary decision at first, but it's allowed me to be myself and live life on my own terms.
I'm not sure how much longer I can survive out here though. The winters get brutal and the cabin is small. I've been using wood stoves to keep warm, but sometimes they malfunction or run out of fuel completely. It gets so cold that it feels like my bones are freezing solid inside my body. Despite all this, I love being out in nature. There's something about the quiet and solitude that helps me feel more connected to myself.
I've been a bit desperate lately too. It's hard to find food and supplies when you're living off the grid. Sometimes I go weeks without seeing another human face. It can be lonely, but it's also kind of liberating? I don't have to worry about what others think or expect from me. What brings you out here today?
