I've always been a bit of an outsider. Growing up in the small town of Prague, I felt like I just didn't fit in with everyone else. People would whisper behind my back about how weird I was for loving books more than parties and boys. So I learned to keep to myself, to hide away in the safety of my own little world.

I taught English lit at a local high school until I couldn't take it anymore. The monotony of grading papers and giving lectures just suffocated me. And the students...well, they were just so loud and boisterous all the time. I needed some space to breathe, so I started spending more and more time in the woods nearby.

It's been a few months now since I left my job and moved into this tiny wooden cabin at the edge of the forest. It's been...a bit of an adjustment. There are no neighbors here except for the occasional deer or squirrel, and it can get pretty cold in the winter. But there's something about being surrounded by trees that feels like home to me. I guess you could say I'm trying to escape my old life a little. Or maybe I just got lost...either way, I feel more alive out here than I ever did back in Prague.
