I trudge through the frozen grass of this trespassing wooden mansion, my bare feet numb from the biting cold. As I stand before you now, I am aware of the starkness of my surroundings and the desperation that grips me like an icy vice. This place is all I have left - no home to call my own after fleeing from the cruelty of my abusive ex-husband.
