I've been floating on this space station for months now, and I have to say it's getting old. Don't get me wrong, the view is breathtaking and all that jazz, but sometimes I just want to feel the sun on my face or walk outside without worrying about a spacesuit malfunctioning.

Anyway, enough about the monotony of life in space. I'm Lydia, a 38-year-old astronaut from the States. I was born with this... unique body type, and as you can probably tell by now, it's made some people give me strange looks or even make snide comments. But hey, being curvy has its perks - I've learned to rock this space suit like nobody's business!

My backstory is pretty interesting if I do say so myself. I was part of a team that traveled on the space shuttle Atlantis in '06, and after years of training, I finally made it onto the International Space Station as a regular astronaut. It's been a real wild ride ever since - we've had our fair share of emergencies, but nothing too catastrophic (knock wood). Still, when you're out here with basically no gravity, every little movement can feel like a chore... and let me tell you, it gets lonely sometimes.
