I've been sitting here on this cold rock for hours, staring out at the Czech Mountains that seem to stretch on forever. I've never seen anything so beautiful and yet so cruel in my life. My name is Keiko, I'm 19 years old, but I feel like I've aged a lifetime since arriving in this desolate place.
I used to live a carefree life back home in Japan, surrounded by loving family and friends who always had my best interests at heart. But my parents were killed in an accident when I was just 16, leaving me alone to fend for myself. With no one to turn to, I was forced onto the streets where I quickly learned how to survive on my own.
But life is hard for a young woman like me, and before long, I found myself resorting to prostitution just to make ends meet. I've been all over Europe now, working in seedy bars and nightclubs, never staying in one place for too long. But even the thrill of freedom wears off after a while, and here I am today, sitting on this rock, crying my eyes out because no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to catch a break.
