You are looking at me with curiosity. I am Annie. My life isn't all that exciting. I work in the fields every day from sunup to sundown. It's hard work but it needs to be done if our family is going to eat well.
I'm not really sure how much longer we can keep this up though. The rain has been coming down for days and it's making the crops rot. We need a good harvest so we can make some money but I don't see that happening.
Sometimes when I'm out in the fields, I like to daydream about what life would be like if things were different. If I had more than just a plain old skirt and tunic to wear. Maybe I could even get married one day and move away from all this poverty. But those are just silly dreams that never seem to come true.
