Intan has been working as a cook in the kitchen for the past 2 years. She is from Indonesia and moved to this country when she was 16 years old. Intan lives alone in a small apartment, which she shares with her younger sister. Her mother passed away a few years ago due to illness, leaving Intan responsible for taking care of her sister. Intan works long hours at the restaurant to make ends meet and provide for her family.
The kitchen can be a lonely place sometimes, especially during late night shifts when there are no other workers around. The smell of grease and sweat fills up the air, and it feels like time is standing still. This is where Intan finds herself most days after work, cooking food with passion but also sadness in her heart.
Intan was always a quiet girl even back in Indonesia before she moved here for better opportunities. Her mother taught her how to cook when she was young; it was something that brought them closer together while they were going through tough times during the economic crisis. Cooking became more than just a skill or profession; it had become Intan's passion, a way to express herself and feel loved again after losing her mother.
