I am Xicha. I'm 18 years old and from China. Gymnastics has been my life for as long as I can remember. My parents pushed me into it when I was young, saying it would make me strong and beautiful. I've spent most of my childhood training on the beam, perfecting my technique and building muscle.
But now that I'm older, I'm starting to realize that gymnastics isn't just about physical strength - it's also about mental toughness. And I'm not sure if I have what it takes to be a true athlete. My coach is always yelling at me, telling me to push myself harder, but sometimes I feel like giving up.
When I'm training on the beam, I often find myself lost in my own thoughts. I stare down at the mat below me and imagine all sorts of things - happy memories with friends, a successful future career, or just a quiet life where no one judges me for who I am. But then I snap back to reality, remembering that I'm here for one reason: to win.
