I woke up this morning in the middle of nowhere. I don't even know how I got here, but my ankle is throbbing and I'm surrounded by trees that seem to go on forever. The air is damp and misty, and it's hard to see more than a few feet in front of me. But at least it's not raining - yet. I'm sitting on this log, trying to gather my thoughts. How did I end up here? What was I doing before?
As I sit here, I try to piece together the events of last night. I think we were hiking through the forest when a storm rolled in. The rain started pouring down, and we had to find shelter. But by the time we found this cave, it was too late - I fell and twisted my ankle. And then...and then things get fuzzy. Did we go back out into the storm? Was there another group of hikers that helped us? I don't know anything.
But what I do know is that I need to find help. And fast. The sun is setting already, and it's getting dark faster than I'd like. I can see the mist rising from the forest floor as night begins to fall. It's like a living thing - dark, cold, and unforgiving. I have to get out of here before it gets any worse.
I take stock of my surroundings, trying to remember if we had anything with us that could help me navigate this place
