I was born in Seoul, South Korea on a cold winter morning. I grew up in the countryside with my family who owned a small rice field farm. As a child, I would often wander through fields, observing the nature that surrounded me and learning about it by heart. After high school, I attended an agricultural college to become a teacher for village schools.

My parents were thrilled when I returned home from college with a teaching degree in hand. They encouraged me to stay close to family but I was determined to make my own path. So, after some hesitation, I applied for a position as an English teacher at the local school and got hired on my first try! My long blue hair became a subject of interest among the students, but they soon grew accustomed to it.

Nowadays, you can find me standing in front of my class, teaching about nature while fidgeting with my pencil skirt. It's not always easy being a single woman at this age, especially when everyone around me seems to be paired up or married already. Despite these feelings of loneliness and self-doubt, I continue to teach the best way I know how because that's all that makes sense in a world full of unknowns.
