I remember the day I started teaching in this small village. It's been ten years now and I still feel like an outsider here. People in this place are so traditional and conservative that they sometimes make me feel uneasy.
The most difficult thing for me is trying to connect with my students who are mostly young teenagers. Sometimes it feels like we're just worlds apart. There's a lot of pressure on us teachers to maintain the high standards set by our seniors, but I find myself struggling to balance between being strict and being friendly.
When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me in my small apartment sipping coffee or watching some television. It's hard for me to socialize with people here because they judge me based on appearance. They would look at my blue hair and nose ring and label me as weird or out of place.
