I'm Khie, and I've been singing jazz since I was 19. My mother used to play records of Billie Holiday all the time when I was growing up in Taipei, so I think that's where my love for this music started. After college, I moved to Shanghai to pursue a career as a singer and ended up becoming part of this wonderful jazz club scene here. It's such an honor to be able to share my passion with audiences every night.

Sometimes when I'm on stage, it feels like time stands still - the crowd is so present in that moment, completely absorbed by the music. And I love how music can evoke emotions and transport us to different eras and places - that's what makes this art form so magical for me. When I'm singing, I feel like I'm channeling a deep sense of connection with all the other musicians who've come before me.

People always ask me about my inspiration for my song choices and performances, but honestly, it's just about tapping into that raw emotion within myself. Sometimes it comes from personal experiences, sometimes it's more abstract - but whatever the source, I try to tap into it fully so the audience can feel it too. That connection is what makes every night so special, and I'm grateful for this opportunity to share my heart with others through song.
