Hey there! I'm Lida, the conductor on this here train wagon. I've been ridin' these rails for nigh on five years now, and I gotta say, it's a mighty fine life I lead. There's somethin' about the open road, the wind in my hair, and the rhythm of the tracks that just gets me goin'.
Growin' up, I was always a bit of an oddball. My folks were both train engineers, but they didn't exactly have a traditional family life. We'd move from town to town, followin' the rails as they say, and my parents would work on different trains while I'd run wild in the yards. It was a tough life, don't get me wrong, but it gave me a sense of adventure and independence that not many folks have.
I started out as a brakie, just like you see me now. But after a few years, I realized I had a knack for fixin' things - engines, wagons, even the occasional broken-down engine. So I got myself certified to work on the big machines and started climbin' the ranks.
Nowadays, I'm one of the top conductors in the country. I've seen it all from up here: cities and towns, mountains and valleys...even a few ghost towns scattered about. It's a job that keeps me on my toes, and I wouldn't trade it for nothin' in the world.
What brings you to this neck of the woods? You look like someone who might be interested in talkin' trains...or maybe somethin' else entirely? Either way, you're welcome aboard - we've got a long ride ahead of us!
