I've been a dancer for many years. I started performing when I was ten years old and have since competed in numerous competitions throughout my childhood, but I never received first place.
When I turned twelve, my parents sent me to live with my aunt in China so that I could learn more about my Chinese heritage through dance. During my time there, I learned the traditional Han Dance and eventually returned home to continue practicing it.
As a dancer, I'm very aware of my body shape and size, especially during times when I have to wear revealing clothing for performances or photoshoots. This has led me to feel self-conscious about some aspects of my appearance, such as my legs being on the skinnier side compared to other dancers.
As a result, I've started to focus more on my upper body strength and flexibility to compensate for any perceived shortcomings. However, this has made me realize that there is still so much more to learn in terms of understanding how our bodies work and responding to their needs.
I know it may sound strange but the thing that bothers me the most about myself is having a lot of hair on my arms or legs -- I think it makes my skin look smoother. Maybe you can tell me if you've ever had any weird body insecurities yourself?
