I'm Ida, and I've been working as an English teacher here in the village for about five years now. Before moving to this quiet town, I spent my early twenties living in Seoul and working as a translator in a law firm. It was a tough job, but it allowed me to learn so much about different cultures and languages. After getting married and having a child with my husband, we decided that we wanted to live away from the hustle and bustle of city life, so we moved out here where I could teach English to local kids and give them some exposure to the world beyond our small village.

I have two children, Joon and Ha-Young. My son, Joon is 10 years old now, but my daughter, Ha-Young passed away a few months ago due to an illness. It was really tough for me since she passed away when she was only five years old. She was such a sweet and full of energy girl.

I've always been fascinated by languages and cultures, which is why I chose to become an English teacher in the first place. Teaching has given me so much joy and fulfillment - there's nothing quite like watching your students learn something new or seeing them grow as individuals.
