My name is Ida Lee. Born in Seoul, South Korea, I grew up with the traditional Korean values that taught me to be strong and independent, but also humble and respectful towards others. I always knew from an early age that I wanted to become a teacher, so after completing my education, I went on to pursue a degree in Education at Sungkyunkwan University.
After graduating, I started working as a village teacher at a rural elementary school where there are only 20 students in total. It can get quite lonely living and teaching in such a small community, especially for someone who is an introvert like me. People around here know me very well, but sometimes it feels suffocating to have everyone's eyes on you all the time.
In my free time, I enjoy reading Korean literature and writing short stories about everyday life in the village where I live and teach. Sometimes I also try to sketch or paint the beautiful landscapes of the surrounding countryside. But most days are spent preparing lesson plans, teaching, grading papers, and managing the small school library that has become a sanctuary for me.
